My sister & I had an excellent Christmas Day dinner & stayover, all looked very festive, good atmosphere, enjoyed after meal drinks by the log burner with a nice complimentary Port nightcap. Lovely room & continental breakfast on Boxing Day. Thank you Carly & Graeme.

Great find for dinner. Really good and interesting choices of food that seems to vary quite often. They also have a dedicated gluten free menu which was great to see.

Dog and baby friendly in the bar.
There's loads of space inside and when we visited in winter a lovely cosy wood burner.

There's also quite a nice walk to Fala just down the little lane.

Great customer service, rooms are incredibly good for the price range, shower pressure is what's needed after a long day walking around Edinburgh and the juniperlea delivers there!
Everyone is so friendly and the staff are more than happy to help.
Really good location just outside Edinburgh.

Really can't sing their praises enough. We had some great nights here.

Also dog friendly! Which was great for us 🙂

Very disappointed. We were told on arrival that food would need to be ordered before 8.00pm, we left the room just before that time and could not access the bar area, as the door was locked. Once we figured out that we’d have to go outside and around the front of the building (which seemed ridiculous), we found the front door to be locked too. The bar/restaurant area was in darkness with absolutely no staff in sight, the time was now 8.02pm. The sign outside said the bar was open until 10.00pm and we’d been assured that if we ordered food before 8.00pm, we’d be served and allowed to drink until 10.00pm. We returned to the room (with some difficulty in gaining access to the building) and later decided to have a bath (which we specifically requested). The plug was broken and the water was tepid, upon phoning the manager Carly I was met with an attitude and sarcastic questions such as “did you push the plug down?” and “did you let the water run?”…..durrrrrr!! . I ended up hanging up the phone and in the morning at 10.00am checkout, there was still no one on site to even complain to. I eventually saw an employee (outside in a van) and voiced my concerns, later that day I was phoned by Graham (apologies if I’ve spelled your name incorrectly) and was told “according to CCTV you tried to get into the restaurant at 08.02pm” (yes, this was after more than 5 minutes of trying to get to the front of the building to find the place locked and deserted), then he said “if you’d spoken to me last night (instead of Carly, I presume) , I’d have offered you our pod with hot tub instead”…..question….why didn’t Carly offer us this? She’s the Manager!! The place was deserted, make no mistake……there were no other guests and I can understand why. Absolutely and thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience at Juniper Lea…..drive a few more miles to Edinburgh and get a Premier Inn!! You’ll save money and there’ll be people there to deal with complaints if you have them.

The hosts, Graham and Carly, were so warm and welcoming. While a bit outside the city of Edinburgh, there's a bus that picks you up right across the road. The rooms are spacious, and the surrounding area is gorgeous!
