This is a diamond in the rough. I honestly was not expecting to like it as much as I do. I will definitely go back to try more dishes in the future. They bring out a bean dip with the chips initially but also have a self-service salsa bar with several salsa choices to pick from. The service was also very friendly and inviting.

What a surprise to run across this little place off 93 north in Kingsport! So good!!! The owner is super friendly and serves you. The food is very flavorful compared to the "greasy spoon" Mexican (so called) in the area. I gotta taco salad and was very surprised how great the meat tasted!! So good! Cheese was fresh and yummy. My husband had the other dish (forgot name) but it was a shredded beef burrito and he was in love with the flavor. Do not let the outside fool you. Inside was CLEAN and welcoming. We will be back for sure.

My boyfriend and I were headed to eat at our favorite local Mexican restaurant, however, it was Sunday around 1:00 (right after church) and there was a wait to get in. With the help from Google, we decided to search for other Mexican restaurants in our area. Authentic California Mexican Grill was a place we’ve never visited and had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. This place did not disappoint! The owner was very friendly and cheerful. The food was outstanding. I ordered shrimp tacos with cilantro and onions on corn tortillas and they were the best corn tortillas in this area. They offer you complimentary bean dip and also have a salsa bar. The house salsa was delicious with a hint of black pepper and cilantro-which I love! I definitely want to try the guacamole when we go back. This actually might be our new favorite spot! Thank you!

I don't understand how my friends and I were the only ones here on a Saturday night. The food was amazing and the owner was SO NICE. I'll definitely be back next time in kingsport.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in many years. First time I been here. Already made plans to bring mom here next Saturday. Best kept secret around here. The owner is very friendly. Will definitely be coming here often.

Absolutely amazing food! Was my first time and very impressed with how good and fresh the food was. The guy that waited on me was so nice and friendly as well! Highly recommend this place!

The food was delicious! I enjoyed the variety of salsas/sauces available. Staff/waiter was nice, friendly, upbeat/positive! The inside of the restaurant was nice, clean; Bathroom was clean, as well. It was a good experience! Will go back again!

My wife and our friends just ate at this awesome place. This was our first time to eat here, we will be back very soon. Atmosphere was very nice and friendly. Food was prepared beyond our liking, meaning out of this world. We have eaten at some of the best Mexican restaurants in the area that were good but the Authentic California Mexican restaurant is the best by far. Thank you for having us and making us come back to our New favorite place.
