I had clinicals at this nursing home facility.. from my observations this facility is really good at training students and their CNA’s are good teachers. The only complaint I have is you have a male CNA who is bald who works day shift. that can be rude to staff as well as students.. I’m not sure who he is but proper manners and respect towards others goes along way.

My mom was at Wexford for around 6 weeks for rehab for shoulder surgery and broken right wrist. Therapy was good. Nurses were good. They fed mom but food was terrible. My mom who is continent and in her right mind would have to wait 30 to 45 min to go to the bathroom and 2 hours one time cause she couldn't get up and down by herself. This is totally unacceptable. The smell thru the hall are really bad with urine smell. I would not recommend this facitity.

This is the most neglectful facility. Patient care is lacking to say the least. Patients are made to sit for hours when they need to go to the bathroom and at night when they need to go to bed. My mothers clothing was not changed as she was put to bed in the same clothes she wore that day rather than her bed cloth which she was in again the next day. Call lights go unaddressed and often ignored especially on the weekends. I had to call my sister and have her come and assist me with helping her to bed and to the bathroom as the nurses refused to help her. I suggest you keep looking for another facility unless you plan on staying with your loved one day and night as I have had too with my mother.

My stepfather has been in this facility for rehab for the last few weeks. I know, in the pandemic age of COVID there have to be some rules about visitors. But, some of the things that have occurred are just not acceptable. We were told before he went there we could visit in a common area or patio. When we tried to visit (and bring him a milkshake) we were told we had to make an appointment.
We dropped brand new clothes (tags still on them) off along with a tin of cookies. He was told his clothes had to be tagged in the laundry - so he couldn’t have them immediately. Now, four days later, his clothes are missing. The cookies never made it to his room.
He cannot get up and go to the restroom without help. But when he calls for help it takes an aid or nurse 30 minutes to come help. And this is knowing they have given him double fluid pills and laxatives?
If your family or friends are considering Wexford House for rehab please check into everything that goes on. And possibly check into another facility covered by their insurance.

My grandmother is currently there for PT (not receiving it however), the staff is very rude and she has deteriorated alot since being there (she could walk with a walker and feed herself, now she can't even get up or feed herself because she is so dizzy) but they wouldn't release her because of how sick/weak she is (which has been caused by them). Also she was left for 3 hours in a wheelchair in soiled clothes after the staff knew she had had a bowel movement

My Dad had to go to Wexford In January 2020 because he broke his hip. I spoke to him before he went in there. The next time I tried to speak to him after he was there, he could no longer speak to me coherently. We never had another conversation. I don't believe the people at Wexford House cared for him at all. If you care about your loved ones don't send them to Wexford House.

They took really good care of my mom until my mom passed away. I also gotta give a lot of credit to Ballad Hospice.
